ACTIVE AND PASSIVE VOICE FOR IMPERATIVE SENTENCES

Orders: Active Voice → Passive Voice (Using Must & Should)

Orders are strong or official instructions. In such sentences, the subject “You” is understood. When changing them into passive voice, special rules apply.

🔹 General Rule

Active Voice: You + must / should + Verb + Object

Passive Voice: Object + must / should + be + V³

🔴 Orders using MUST

🔵 Orders using SHOULD

You should submit the report tomorrow.The report should be submitted tomorrow.

You should cooperate with the authorities.Cooperation should be given to the authorities.
You should stand in a queue.A queue should be formed.
You should inform the office in advance.The office should be informed in advance.
